Thiruvananthapuram (or Trivandrum) is the capital of the southern Indian state of Kerala. It’s distinguished by its British colonial architecture and many art galleries. It’s also home to Kuthira Malika (or Puthen Malika) Palace, adorned with carved horses and displaying collections related to the Travancore royal family, whose regional capital was here from the 18th–20th centuries.

  1. Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple : A Vishnu temple with a massive fort gateway has been built in Dravidian style and is closed to non-Hindus. This beautiful temple situated in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram is very easy to approach . There is a parking area near the north entrance, though the east gopuram is the most commonly used and most ornate. The dress code of sarees and Mundu is very strictly adhered to. The queue is very disorderly and one gets to see a very small portion of the deity.
  2. Kovalam Beach :Kovalam Beach is a cluster of three pristine beaches, ideal for an evening stroll, each offering a unique experience. It has been sculpted by a very young person named Devadathan .it is of concrete statue of lord Shiva 20 feet from the Arabian sea and58 ft tall being listed in Asia book of records. it is of 3 D view where Shiva gazing angular direction . it depicts the beautiful Shivas hair flowing in the wind holding ganga on top seen mingled with Shivas hair denoting the name as Gangadhareshwar. his one hand stays on right thigh other hand holds trisul.and damaru too. it is named as it is placed between the sea and huge rocks.

  7. Agastya Mala : Agastyamala Or Agasthyarkoodam is located in Thiruvananthapuram, near Neyyardam. It is a very beautiful forest in which all the major ayurvedic medicines are available.
  8. Shankumugam beach : A nice beach located adjacent to the airport, Shankumugham beach, not as famous as Kovalam, gives you a good feel of the sun, sea and sand. It is less crowded, really calm and serene experience to walk around and feel the majestic presence of the sea.
